Welcome to Saint John Nepomuk, the oldest Czech Roman Catholic church in the New World.

Welcome to Saint John Nepomuk Chapel, the oldest Czech church in the New World.  Founded in 1854, Saint John’s has been serving Catholics in the historic Soulard area of Saint Louis for 159 years.  Today we embrace our Czech heritage but our church is attended by people of all backgrounds from all over the Metropolitan Saint Louis Area.

Please join us for the holy sacrifice of the mass Saturday afternoon at 4:30 or Sunday morning at 9:30.  All masses are celebrated in English with Czech hymns on Sunday morning.

There is nothing ordinary about "ordinary" time.  What we refer to as "ordinary" are the weeks, designated by ordinal numbers, that fall between Christmas and Lent and between Easter and Advent.  Every Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning we participate in the miracle of the priest turning bread and wine into Jesus' Body and Blood.  Nothing "ordinary" about that!

This year's Ordinary Time is even more extraordinary because we'll be celebrating the 160th anniversary of the founding of Saint John Nepomuk.  Beginning in 1854, our worship community has been located at 11th and Lafayette.  Watch our calendar of events, or follow us on Facebook to stay up-to-date on all the events we have planned.

No matter what the season, you're always welcome at Saint John Nepomuk Chapel.  Normally, the first Sunday of the month is "Hospitality Sunday" when we serve pastries and coffee following 9:30 mass and invite you to join us.  Please check our calendar page for Hospitality Sunday dates and for all our other activities.
